Recycling in Singapore, Part II

A few weeks ago, I posted a picture of a confounding set of recycling bins near the Lavender MRT station.  I saw them again yesterday.  Behold:

I’m often the first to point out that correlation does not equal causation, but a guy can dream, right?

This is hard evidence that Singapore is getting better by the day.  But you wouldn’t think so from listening to those anti-PAP crybabies.  Just kidding, I almost always support the underdogs.  And those who fight tyranny.

As you probably know, recycling bins in China are grossly misused.  They are poorly labelled and almost always filled with garbage.  Friends in China have told me that they have no idea what is recyclable and what isn’t, nor do they understand what should be thrown in which bin.  Well, here’s a solution to your conundrum, you near-sighted, excuse-making louts:

These are recycling bins that even an illiterate lump can understand.  Kudos to the management at Singapore’s Changi Airport for setting these up in the beautiful Terminal 2.

Unfortunately, the budget terminal isn’t quite as nice. Here’s another attempt to make a difference:  Powers-that-be, if you are reading this post, please put well-marked recycling bins in the Changi Airport budget terminal.  Cheap bastards like me love the earth too, you know.

  1. Coincidence? I think not. Nice job getting those guys to label their recycling bins. Cool recycling bins at the Changi airport.
