The original topic of this blog was environmentalism in China.  For the next few months, I will broaden the topic while remaining within the greater theme of chasing mirages.  I am now in Singapore, preparing to embark on a trip through a part of the world that has fascinated me for years.  Southeast Asia possesses some of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in the world, a population with the world’s highest concentration of Theravada Buddhists, farmland that has been continuously and productively cultivated for thousands of years, and downstream river systems that are severely threatened by China’s damming activities.

Please stay tuned.  I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!
